So, I finished going through my ‘Favourites’ on Twitter, and here is the last of the quotes that I have collected over the last 2 years. There is a lot of inspiration here, a lot of truth, and a little fun.  It also tells a little bit about my photography style and how much Photography is a part of my life.  It isn’t just a ‘job’ to me.  It is my passion, my career, and my hobby.  I am so blessed that I found my calling and am able to pursue it full time.  Couldn’t have done it without my wonderful friends and family!

Snow and Fog on a Beautiful Sunny Sunday Morning!

Share

We woke up bright an early on Sunday morning to go for a drive and visit some friends out of town. Usually when we go for a drive through the country I will take my camera with me, but this time I didn’t because I was shooting a wedding all day Saturday and my arms and eyes needed a little bit of a rest. I wish I would have now, but I think my iPhone captured it quite nicely! The way the fog was in a line just above the ground looked pretty amazing against the blue sky and the sunlight. I was expecting some blur with these photos as the car was doing about 80km/hour and I opened my window and snapped a few quick shots. I know how I wanted it to look, and I was surprised to look at the photos afterwards and see that they turned out exactly the way it looked to me. The iPhone camera is impressive in some situations, but not all. This was defnitely impressive and I am very happy with how the images turned out. I didn’t do any editing on these at all.

Something New, Something Borrowed and Some Things Blue.

I am now shooting with a local Wedding Photography Firm (Latte Productions) and they are very busy with weddings this year! These are my own edits of the originals that they return to me once they do their own edits and deliver the photos to the Happy Couples. I love shooting weddings, and even more I love working on the photos afterwards. These photos are from Randall and Steve’s wedding from November. The ceremony was at Holy Family Church in New Hamburg, Ontario, and photos were at the Waterlot (also in New Hamburg) and at the park behind. I enjoyed being a part of their day. I am looking forward to shooting many more weddings this year!

Myself as the Subject

It’s a yucchy, rainy day (what was supposed to be a HUGE snowstorm) and I needed some inspiration. So, I tried to do my make up (I would love to learn how to do some cool eye make up and bring out my eyes more!) put my hair back – I didn’t have the patience to do too much with it and I am not very good at doing my own hair, but I hardly ever wear it back like this, so this is ‘doing my hair’ for me. All of my camera equipment was out and ready to go for a wedding tomorrow, so why not? This is probably the best practice a photographer can get because we are the most critical of ourselves. When I take photos of myself, I realize more and more what women are thinking when they are in front of my camera. Here, once again is Me in front of my own camera. I wanted to try some close ups this time!

The Wandering Raccoon

Share

I’m not a Wildlife Photographer, but when I see something interesting or different, I have to run to get my camera! I was outside with the kids waiting for the bus this morning and noticed an animal on the road about a half kilometer away, and realized it was a raccoon. It wasn’t moving very fast, so either it is injured or has rabies. It was far enough away that we weren’t in any danger. I ran inside to grab my camera and luckily it was still there, wandering around in the middle of the road. (Still far enough away and moving very slow!) I don’t even think it was noticing the cars stopping for it, honking and then going around.
I wasn’t stupid, I put my 300mm lens on and zoomed in instead of trying to get close. If it is wandering around super slow during the day, there is definitely something wrong.

Trash The Dress Reflection (HDR)

These Photos are from a Trash The Dress Photo Shoot I did almost 2 years ago. I have been organizing all of the photos I have collected over the last couple of years, and thought I would try a few different things with some of them as I go. So here are a few Trash The Dress photos in HDR.
